Google Tasks kanban

Google Tasks does not include a built-in kanban view — but your task lists can work like board columns. Apps like TasksBoard and Sunrise add visual boards on top of Google Tasks. The difference: Sunrise also shows your Google Calendar so tasks stay in context with your schedule.

Set up lists as columns

In Google Tasks, create lists that match your workflow — for example Backlog, This week, Done. Each list becomes a column in Sunrise's kanban view. Drag tasks between columns; changes sync to Google.

Kanban-only vs calendar + kanban

Tasks-only kanban (e.g. TasksBoard) is ideal for task-heavy work, labels, and team sharing on boards. Calendar + kanban (Sunrise) fits when you need to see meetings and due tasks together — personal day planning, not team project management.
